We underestimated the visual effect of a few dozen people in police uniforms doing not so police-like things. This scene attracted a lot of initially baffled onlookers (or maybe it was aroma of Krispy Kreme donuts that Odessa Records owner, Paul Finn, brought to the set).

Chris Stamey, producer of Big Star Third, and Danielle McCarthy and Drew DeNicola, the producing and directing team behind Nothing Can Hurt Me, the full-length documentary on seminal indie band, Big Star, asked us to film the Big Star Third rehearsals and performance. It was special. It was magical. It was unusual. It was Big. Dig the studio lava lamp!
Ari, of Lost in the Trees, did the orchestrations and conducted. Go Ari!
Big Star Third will do an encore performance on February 15th at UNC's PlayMakers Theatre.
We were at The Station for one of Danny Mason's Monday night jam sessions. Jim Smith sauntered up on stage, sang this song called "Suicide Note" and it grabbed us. Every time you think you know where the song is going, it digs its shoulder in a different direction. it just so happened that this was the week before Bennett Williams was interning with us, so we decided to make the most of the free help and do a video for the song the following Friday. James went into high gear finding a location and we shot for a about half a day. And, of course, Jerry edited forever. Here it is.
Even on a wintry Saturday Afternoon, Lizh worked her magic on a collection of beauties who quickly fell under her musical spell, creating what Jerry calls, "The Garden of Fallen Lovers".
